Convergence: Let's start at the beginning

Every amazing event starts with a simple idea and grows. Convergence Fashion Show is no exception.

Here at Studio 6751, we're all about people and people love fashion. Whether you're a casual day beauty or love to dress to impress, we're all for people expressing themselves through fashion; so naturally we thought a fashion show was just what our local Pilbara region needed, and Convergence was born.

Convergence meaning: a coming together, a meeting or gathering of many to one point; this is exactly what we set out to do and with a little bit of luck and a lot of planning, we started the search for local Pilbara and Western Australian fashion designers and fashion lovers, and we were not disappointed.

Our search started with one of our very own Studio Crew members Emily; a Pilbara local who happened to have a fashion degree under her belt. Her time was soon spent creating a 12-piece collection reflecting her love of structured garments with a nod to period silhouettes.

Her fashion label EMMC was soon joined by Perth based fashion designer Teagan Jacobs. Teagan Jacobs ethical hand-crafted womenswear label offers whimsical garments for the ultra-feminine daydreamer.

Studio was then approached by The Vintage Perspective, a vintage store with a twist. The Vintage Perspective is all about preserving the past but also embracing the now; they offer an array of unique one-off pieces, some original and some revamped, that is sure to get you childhood memories resurfacing.

Bombo was next to join Convergence. Maria Bombo is a Pilbara fashion designer who has a flare for women's evening attire and bridal wear; her gowns feature hand-beading, lace applique, accentuate the female form and gently embrace her Indonesian culture.

Last but certainly not least to join the fashion show was Pilbara based Aboriginal artist Joanne Smith aka Gwarli Nangala. Joanne had always wanted to branch into fashion but wasn't sure how; upon a visit into the Studio 6751 boutique, Joanne met Emily. With Joanne creating the printed textile and EMMC creating the garments through a collaboration Gwarli Nangala had its first fashion collection to debut at the first ever Convergence Fashion Show.
